此博客程序和此网站的提供者是个Ruby、Rails大牛，而Ruby中有个特性叫做“反射机制”。Ruby中提供了一个方法叫做 is_a? 该方法可以确定某对象是不是某类的实例。比如

1.is_a? Fixnum #=> true
1.1.is_a? String #=> false

但是如果使用self.is_a? Programmer 的话，或许就会太长了。所以就精简为了self.is_programmer? 就和 self.nil? 有同样的 Hack 意味在其中。
